Crossing $4,000 a month raises the fixed fee from 10 to 19 cents, so on a $40 service the lower rate saves only about 3 cents per transaction before the $10 monthly fee.
Keyed payments cost 3.5% + 19 cents at every volume.

How to lower your Vagaro fees

Check your average ticket before celebrating the lower tier: above $4,000 a month you need roughly 300 transactions at $40 to earn back the $10 fee.
Run cards on a reader rather than keying them, and prefer the reader to Tap to Pay on a phone to skip the 6 cent add-on.
Surcharge credit cards only where legal: Visa requires 30 days' notice to your acquirer, caps the surcharge at the lower of your merchant discount rate or 3%, bans it on debit and prepaid cards, and as of Feb 15, 2024 lists Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, Oklahoma and Puerto Rico as prohibiting it.

Can you pass the fee to customers?

Unclear. Vagaro's pricing and card processing pages do not describe a surcharge or convenience-fee feature.
