Delivery-app error charges
How long do you have to dispute an Uber Eats order error?
Updated · Checked against primary sources
The short answer
Uber Eats allows 30 days from the order date to dispute an order error adjustment, using the dispute button in the Orders tab of Uber Eats Manager. Uber says it aims to resolve disputes within about an hour. Customer reports made more than 96 hours after the order was placed are not charged to the restaurant.
Key takeaways
- 30 days from the order date, from the Orders tab (filter "Issue charged").
- Uber covers late or damaged deliveries by its own couriers, suspected fraud and cold food.
- Uber lists the evidence it accepts: CCTV of packing, photos of the sealed bag with the order ID, a signed-off ticket.
- Adjustments can land in a later payout week than the order, so match by order ID, not by week.
What Uber Eats charges the restaurant for
Uber charges the restaurant for missing items, incorrect items and incorrect orders, plus undelivered or very late orders when the restaurant uses its own delivery staff. It does not charge for problems attributed to Uber couriers, suspected fraud, damage, food temperature or taste (Uber Eats Merchants). The charge is the food sales cost including tax at the time of the order.
